Our Softswitch works on Amazon EC2!
December 23, 2009
We are very excited to announce that our SoftSwitch works on Amazon EC2!
For those of you who don’t know, Amazon EC2 is the latest technology in the virtualization world. By allowing you to pay only for the capacity that you actually use, Amazon EC2 makes their hosting solution extremely cost effective.
Service Providers and those who want to be service providers will find it very helpful since they will be able to start their own VoIP service without investing money on hardware and at the same time run their service on a scalable and a reliable hosting platform.

Great idea, i requested an trial account and tested allready Avaya 9650C adn 9620C Phones with SIP Firmware with success.
This trial environment makes it extremly easy for me testing different SIP endpoints against the Vocaltec BAX Server, as well showing interested customers the Vocaltec BAX Server solution without the need of transport a HW Server with me.
As well i am saving a lot of time to setting up test environment for customers.
It would be great, if Vocaltec would provide a bigger common voice VPN with the capability to test interoperability between different SIP Points with other testers as well. In opposite tested configurations could be provided to Vocaltec and published on the support page.
Currently i am investing for an capability to get a offnet gateway for public PSTN call termination reachable through the Internet. Maybe someone else has a good tip, to do so!
Friendly regards, Toni
